Your gift will help us to develop the adventurous activities we offer to our youth members. With your help we can offer scouting to even more children and young people in our community.
You can donate online via CAF Donate (Charities Aid Foundation). Here you can choose to give a one-off gift or set up a regular giving account.
You can also donate online via Crowdfunder, again with a one-off gift or set up a regular giving account.
Alternatively you can send your donation as a cheque, made payable to the '19th Wimbledon Scout Group'. Please email the Group Secretary, Ian Haynes (secretary@19thwimbledonscouts.co.uk) for details on where to send your cheque. Please don't send cash in the post!
If you would like to talk to someone about your donation, please contact the Group Chair, Ros Barnes (chair@19thwimbledonscouts.co.uk).
If you would like to consider including the 19th Wimbledon Scout Group in your will, the Scout Association have published a useful booklet which you can view here as a pdf file.
Generally, the Scout Association recommends that any gift in your will, intended for a specific Scout Group, should be given to the Scout Association stating where the legacy should go (e.g. the 19th Wimbledon Scout Group). When the Scout Association receive a legacy with this request they automatically send it on to the Scout Group concerned. Further details, including wording for your will and a simple codicil form are included in the Legacy Information Booklet.
Gift Aid is a simple government initiative which allows you to increase the value of your donations at no extra cost to you. For every pound you give, the 19th Wimbledon Scout Group can claim an extra 25 pence from HM Revenue & Customs, helping your donation to go further.
To be eligible to sign up for Gift Aid you must be a UK taxpayer and pay an amount of income and/or capital gains tax – at least equal to the tax that the charity will reclaim in the tax year. This also applies if you pay tax on your savings, pension plan or investment income.
HM Revenue & Customs regards membership subscriptions as 'donations' and the Scout Group can claim Gift Aid on these fees. The Group can also get Gift Aid on money donated for sponsored events. Gift Aid is not available on camp fees because the benefit to the 'donor' is regarded as too high to qualify for the scheme. If you have not claimed Gift Aid before, you are entitled to claim back the previous four years of contributions.
When sending a donation by post please complete our Gift Aid registration form - which can be downloaded here as a pdf file.
