Membership Subscriptions (Subs)

 

For our young people, we ask families to contribute a small amount for subscriptions (subs) each term (this pays for things like insurance and equipment), and to contribute to the cost of camps and activities. We are a registered charity (Reg. Charity No: 303793), and all the subscriptions we receive go directly to activities - all our leaders are 100% unpaid volunteers.

 

Bursaries are available - we believe that no young person should be prevented from joining because of cost.

 

Payment

 

The current subscription for a Beaver, Cub or Scout is £45 per school term.

 

Subs are due just after each half-term (November, February and June) and are payable using our online system 'Online Scout Manager'. Parents have an option to set up a direct debit or make a one-off payment for the current term.

 

Gift Aid

 

The Gift Aid Scheme enables us to reclaim basic rate tax on membership subscriptions, without posing any further obligations on the payer. Please sign up if possible, as this continues to provide a useful boost to our finances. You can sign up directly in Online Scout Manager (OSM).

Online Scout Manager (OSM)

All sections in the Group now use Online Scout Manager for admin, membership subscription payments, camps and events.

The advantages of online payment:

  • Parents can view and update contact details online
  • No more missing bits of paper
  • Sign up for events and camps in just a few clicks
  • Event and subscription payments can be checked at any time
  • Parents will receive an email advising them when a payment is due
  • Payments are quick and easy 
  • Reduces time our volunteers spend with administrative tasks, allows more time to plan exciting activities for the children!
